John Voight feeling guilty for being such an ass to Angelina Jolie’s mom.
John Voight is reeling with regret following the January (07) death of ex-wife Marcheline Bertrand, according to son James Haven.
Haven claims his Oscar winning father was always “tough” on mother Bertrand, who died at the age of 56 following a seven and a half year battle with ovarian cancer.
The couple split in 1976 shortly after the birth of Haven’s younger sister Angelina Jolie. Haven, 33, says, “My dad left a voicemail message that was very kind, wishing condolences to me and my sister. That was what he did.
“He was very tough on my mom for years and then the person he was tough on has gone. He can’t do anything now, he can’t fix that and it’s very painful.”

Anger and resentment will destroy a person in life unless they forgive. Angelina can not undo what happened in her mother and father’s relationship and she can not help her how she feels about her father’s actions.
I do not believe Angelina’s mother would want her to hold bitterness in her heart because Marcheline was most gracious and a loving woman with a forgiving heart. Angelina has so much more to give in life and receive by forgiving her father. She does realize her life is not worth wasting over something she had no control of.
