LOST: Let’s discuss. “The Man From Tallahassee”

Lost was GREAT last night! The last several Lost episodes have been less than amazing. We were promised suprises – and instead had revelations that most of us Lost fans already knew (Claire and Jack are siblings? Ya don’t say!)
In case you haven’t seen Lost yet – I’m going to put the rest of this behind the cut. If you want to keep reading click on MORE!
First of all – let me say that Lost is officially BACK! It kicked BUTT last night. Was the best Lost episode I’ve seen since Desmond’s episode (which is one of my favorites this season). Could last night have been any better? There were some awesomely CREEPY moments between Locke and Henry.
For once – Lost started off in the heat of things, exactly where they left off last week.

*We found out why Jack was playing football with the “Others” and why he seemed to be one of them. — He had made a deal with Benry (Ben/Henry)
*We found out why Locke was paralyzed in the first place. — His dad threw him out of an 8 story window.
*We found out that Lockes dad was locked in “the box” for Locke to find in the last 30 seconds of the episode. — What was up with that? Was it real? If so, how did his dad get there?
*We found out there WAS a submarine on the island – and that Jack and Juliet had a shot of getting off the island, before Locke blew it up. — I can’t wait to see how this turns out for Locke. You just know Juliet’s gonna go all apesh*t now, and I see her character changing drastically now.

I can’t WAIT to see next week’s episode. “Expose” will be a Nikki and Paulo episode (hottie from Love Actually). I also found out that Ian Somerhalder and Maggie Grace will be in this episode. They will appear in flashbacks to the plane crash. Here’s the synopsis for next week’s episode!

“Expose” – Hurley begins to suspect that Sawyer may be involved in an island mystery surrounding two fellow survivors, and Sun learns the truth about her past kidnapping attempt by “The Others,” on “Lost,” WEDNESDAY, MARCH 28 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

I thought this episode was awesome as well. It’s nice to get a few questions answered. I am wondering what is going to happen between Locke and his dad. Makes you wonder who else might be locked up on the island somewhere, right? I am freaking HOOKED! I love this show and obsess over it a little too much.

There are still questions to be answered… like what the hell happened to Michael and Walt? Did they make it off the island? Are they floating around somewhere in the ocean? Are they on another part of the island?
And what about the black smoke that killed Eko?
So many questions… so few answers.

My theory is that they brought Locke’s dad back as a test. If John is able to forgive his father for everything that he has done to him, then his name will be taken off the list.

I have a random theory – that Locke didn’t actually blow up the submairine but staged an explosion. He came out of the water wet, but we never really saw the “sub” explode. Am I totally crazy?
And I’m not convinced that Ben needs to be in a wheelchair, but he’s faking it to get Locke’s trust?
Ususally I don’t have so many theories, but those two things really stuck out to me as weird.

That’s been the biggest mystery for me this season: Walt and Michael. What’s going on! Also, when I checked ABC their names are not in the bios….hmm
And that little scene between Kate and Jack? I wonder who she’ll choose…
Also would like to know the story behind Alex and Benry – how the heck is he the father?
Best thing is – all new episodes for the rest of the season!! WOOHOO!

Benry is NOT Alex’s father. The “Others” kidnapped Alex as a baby (from the Frenchie) and gave Alex to Henry to raise as his own. Alex doesn’t know that Henry’s not really her father.
I’m right, no?

i guess i am the only one who thinks that lost sucked last night. first, i don’t like the lcoke character. second, the episode was so slow. there was at least a ten second gap between each character’s words. third, every episode there are new questions abut too little answers. i’ve already given up trying to remember all the mysteries of the island.

Jocelyn, I believe you are right about Alex and Ben’s relationship. If I remember correctly, I believe Danielle talked of her husband (and I am assuming Alex’s birth father?) being on the island with her in the beginning.
I think Locke actually did blow up the sub, though. I do not believe anyone will ever get off the island again. I am liking the theory from LOSTaholic!!
There I go again….obsessing!

It would have been better if Locke’s “dad” didn’t look more like his brother. They look the same flippin age. And Locke actually looks older than him on the island.

well I’ll say this about the michael walt thing. that will not be resolved til season 4 or 5 mainly because of issues surrounding shooting and money issues. Also the bigger thing would be how would they explain walts growth? when they do and if they do come back to the show. It was a big mistake on the producers part to have that story line because it may never be resolved.
March 22nd, 2007 at 7:36 pm
yummy, you’re assuming that they didn’t already film whatever resolution to Michael/Walt. Usually, they would have filmed some scenes to be shown out of sequence – not the least because it is harder to have a child actor appear young over multiple seasons.
i thought the episode was one of the better ones in some time. All the episodes post-winter break have been okay to good, but this one was back to original form. Plus, i think there’s something to the Locke story that is compelling – sometimes, you aren’t sure if he’s really good/bad, but then you get glimpses of some altruistic actions and belief on his part, e.g. his rapport with the island.
Me, I’m waiting for some more polar bear/island smog creature craziness. What aboot the shark? Who else is watching whom? Since much of this is predicated on psychology experiments (gone awry), it’ll be interesting to see where they go next. Hopefully this episode gets some viewers back.

What about the giant monster that ripped homeboy pilot from the plane? Wouldnt they have run into him or his tracks? Seems something that big would have a large appetite.

What about Locke’s dad being the “real” Sawyer? The one that island Sawyer wants to kill? It has to be, because there must be some connection between him and someone else on the island other than just Locke right?
March 23rd, 2007 at 12:09 pm
ILOVELOST—–You are sooo right about Locke’s Dad being the real Sawyer. A friend menioned it to me and I totally think that is what will come out. And I think Sawyer will kill him.
I think that maybe if Locke doesn’t forgive his Dad that he will not be able to walk again. Or if he doesn’t repent for pushing Patchy into the alarm system. Locke has this weird weird connection with the island.
I am wondering what will happen with Michael & Walt? I also wonder if Jack & Claire will find out they’re siblings? What is up with Desmond? Will Danielle ever try to get Alex back?
Anyone notice that Locke got pushed off the 8th floor (one of the #’s) & that the whiskey his Dad offered him was the same whiskey Penny’s Dad did NOT offer Desmond & the same whiskey the Hurley, Charlie & Desmond drank on the beach.

What you didn’t say is that now we’re almost sure that the real Sawyer (not James) is actually Locke’s father! WOW.
BTW, I’m still wondering if the magic box is a metaphor or a real thing.
