Monica Bellucci & Vincent Cassel Nearly Made An Adult Film Together
Acting couple Monica Bellucci and Vincent Cassel were once approached to star in a pornographic movie together – but feared fans would brand it a cheap “stunt.” The pair married in 1999 and were keen to extend their relationship to a screen partnership. However, despite being tempted by director Gaspar Noe’s raunchy offer, Cassel concedes the film was inappropriate.
He says, “When we sat down and watched (porn) movies together and saw the sex scenes we thought it wasn’t right. People would think it was a stunt. So at the last minute we pulled out of that and ended up doing Irreversible (pic below) with Gaspar instead.”
And the couple, who have also starred in L’Appartement and Sheitan (Satan) together, are keen to team up again in front of the camera in the near future.
Cassel says, “It’s a way to see each other more. We have a project that we’re going to do together, but we’re waiting to do it. Maybe in around a year-and-a-half we’re going to do another picture.”
I saw about 1/2 of “Irreversible” and it was a movie that to this day still HAUNTS me. I’ve never been that disgusted, that mortified in my ENTIRE life. I can’t imagine what would possess ANYONE to make such a gruesome movie…ugh, it makes me feel gross just thinking about it.

Oh my gosh! I just saw clips of irreversible on youtube and it was the most horrifying thing I have ever seen!!! I couldn’t even finish watching it…….i don’t feel very good right now. seriously.

There is a rape scene (which was 8 minutes long…I just looked it up) – where it DOES NOT look like acting. It looks like she is being raped.
When the film premiered at Cannes – it made headlines, because people were fainting and throwing up during the premiere. That’s how bad it was.
It is VERY VERY BRUTAL. The rape scene is not even the gruesome part I was talking about. Vincent plays her bf in the movie. When he finds out what happened to her (the rape) he goes on this bloody rampage to make those who raped her “pay” for what they did. He goes into an underground gay S&M club named “Rectum” and BRUTALLY murders one of the rapists. Vincent beats his head in with a fire extinquisher – and the camera stays on the rapists head as it’s being bashed in. The entire time.
It was AWFUL.

Erin, in this movie you have a rape scene that is so realistic two women fainted in the theater when I went to see it. The scene lasts more than it is bearable to see.
This movie is in fact HAUNTING. You never wanna take the tube again after that… (Btw I take it everyday, don’t have choice AND I LIVE IN PARIS where the movie was shot!)

Defintely not my type of film. Some things just don’t need to be burned into your mind. I’m jelous Popi, I loved Paris I visited twice when I went to school in Germany it was my favorite city in Europe.

I just saw the movie this year. This is not a film for ordinary people.. it is a different concept. Alot of people cannot understand it, as they approach it like a common routine film. Irreversible just keeps you busy showing violence in human nature so realistic ! Not disgusting, but the scene from the gay club is almost snuff.. which is quite shocking. The whole film is really shocking.. it radiates insecurity, it really touches your feelings. It\’s natural, intense.. and wild free. But inspite its originality, I\’m not sure someone would gain anything by watching it, as it doesn\’t seem to have a common meaning, and it has the atmosphere of a bad trip. Anyway, if you decide to watch it, do it 2 times, in order to see that the scenes appear in the invert order (the beginning is actually the end of the film and so on..) Strange stuff to make a movie on it..

some scenes were shocking but i think people are nagging too much about it and are overreacting…this movie is for down to earth people who like realistic storylines..i can imagine that nobody wants to see brutal rape but this movie is so much more than that…it describes every day horror, this can happen to anyone! it describes the problems in our modern society nowadays!
unfortunately they good guys killed the wrong men in that sm gay club..the real rapist is standing in the crowd that is watching…very dramatic
great storyline and very original!

you shouldnt pay that much attention to the brutal scenes, i think the maker wants to warn us about the horror and danger in our modern society nowadays!!
its a very good movie and very realistic and original, i think people who only see the disgusting things dont really got the message and meaning of this great movie with a great storyline!!
