Evangeline Lilly hints at wanting to quit Lost.
Evangeline Lilly has hinted she will quit ‘Lost’ unless the show’s fans stop hassling her.
The actress is growing weary of the constant attention she receives from followers of the program and admits she sometimes considers walking away from her role as sexy fugitive Kate in the hit series.
Lilly, who is dating her ‘Lost’ co-star Dominic Monaghan, said: “I am an incredibly private person, and it’s so exhausting to me that everywhere I go people know me or think they know me. If I could act and make the income I make and be anonymous, I would never want to leave the job.”
This is not the first time Lilly has complained about her fame.
She previously admitted she would like to go on holiday to a remote island where no one would recognise her because she is so sick of being hounded by fans and the media wherever she goes.
She said: “I want to go somewhere like Mongolia or Timbuktu. Someplace where they don’t watch ‘Lost’!”

Oh quitchyerbitchin! The *reason* you make the money you do is because of the very people you are complaining about! It’s called brand recognition, hon. Without it, you’re nothin but another pretty face. Cuz you’re certainly not *that* great of an actress. Once the show is over, she’ll be scrambling for parts like the rest of them. Waaaaaahhhhhhh

very rude and disrespectful to say that about her. She isn’t the only one complaining about the public eye . every single celeb does. the thing about it is she really didn’t knnow what she was getting into and it was true culture shock for her. I hope that she can just be comfortable with it and not let it affect her but she could have a very promising career ahead of her. Give her some slack Lost is her first real acting gig.

I agree with Anonymous, I think she is just really new to all the massive attention. She wasnt slowly introduced to it the way most celebs are, she went from being a nobody to one of the main stars of a huge show. It might take her a while to get used to it. On the other hand she knew she was a private person ahead of time. This was the wrong career choice for a private person.

Fort Saskatchewan, her hometown, isn’t exactly the place to be if you’re prepping up and coming starlets. Like Josie and Anonymous said - she didn’t see it coming.

Oh for Christ sakes !!! I’m too successful, whaaaaaaa !!! Yes, I’m sure when she aspired to become a star it was her intention to only become marginally successful so she wouldnt be noticed. Stories like this just piss me off.

I would hate it SO MUCH if every pound I lost or gained, or if every breakup ended up on the front page of tabloids. (I don’t agree with how the papparazzi treats stars.) And that’s why I never aspired to be famous. Sorry folks, these people must have some clue of what life will be like if they get famous. If you don’t like it, then get out of the biz. Chances are the money and fame will keep them there. Just stop bitchin.

Back in the day in the 40’s and 50’s the only gossip they had were in the major newspapers. And they actually respected actors and singers. Sure there were rumours back them but you know there weren’t hundreds of magazines, millions of websites, and zoom cameras to get all those private images. Only someone who was self absorbed(paris maybe?) would want to be on every cover and wouldn’t care about sex tapes. But those actors who love the art really want their privacy. Most actors ,true actors don’t want fame or fortune. It’s ridiculous they get paid all that money anyway. I am the same anon as above and I’m glad that I could point out that she really didn’t know what it would be like. J.J. Abrams the producer told her she was gonna be BIG! like Jennifer Garner and she said in an interview she didn’t understand what he meant. She’s even said herself she doesn’t watch too much tv. So she probably didn’t care much about the ET or access hollywood shows all about celebs. I wish her luck. And wish that this spot light on celebs dims. I hope people understand they bleed like us and wipe their ass like us, They have issues like all of us do and at the end of the day the only thing that seperates them from us is money and fame.
