Rosie and Trump: The catfight!!
This is crazy!
Rosie O’Donnell had some fiery words for Donald Trump on The View Wednesday morning, calling him a “snake-oil salesman” following his announcement that he would not fire troubled Miss USA Tara Conner.
After hearing about her comments, Trump fired back to PEOPLE, calling her “a woman out of control” and saying he planned to sue O’Donnell over her statements questioning his financial well-being.
“You can’t make false statements,” Trump tells PEOPLE exclusively. “Rosie will rue the words she said. I’ll most likely sue her for making those false statements – and it’ll be fun. Rosie’s a loser. A real loser. I look forward to taking lots of money from my nice fat little Rosie.”
The battle began on Wednesday’s show, when a peeved O’Donnell said: “(He) left the first wife – had an affair. (He) had kids both times, but he’s the moral compass for 20-year-olds in America. Donald, sit and spin, my friend.”
O’Donnell, who impersonated Trump by deepening her voice and flipping her hair to one side, aimed her criticism at his comment from the Tuesday press conference that, “I’ve always been a believer in second chances. Tara is good person. Tara has tried hard. Tara is going to be given a second chance.”
Conner, who just turned 21, will go to rehab but keep her crown, following reports of alleged drug and alcohol abuse. A grateful Conner apologized for her behavior at the press conference, and she thanked Trump for his compassion.
But O’Donnell was not as touched. After repeatedly saying she “didn’t enjoy him,” Rosie discussed Trump’s finances – saying he went bankrupt, which Trump denies – and likened him to the “snake-oil salesman on Little House On The Prairie. This is not a self-made man,” O’Donnell said.
And while O’Donnell and her View co-hosts discussed Conner’s alleged drug and alcohol abuse, Rosie was dismissive, saying, “She went out and she was partying – doing what Paris and Lindsay do.”
She also turned her wrath toward the Miss USA organization itself. “Miss America is the prestige,” she said. “Miss USA is a different thing. It’s basically a model competition. Let’s be realistic.”
Trump’s response? “She talked about the Miss USA contest, which has terrific ratings on NBC. Miss America got thrown off of network television! It’s (on cable), where nobody watches it,” he said, countering her statements. “And my father never gave me tons of money.”
He also thinks Rosie’s rant against him was personal. Trump says he once sarcastically chastised Rosie about her “failed magazine” and “failed talk show.” Added The Donald: “I think she’s just terrible.”
For her part, O’Donnell seemed to realize she was in for a fight after she criticized Trump, adding: “Here comes the lawsuit. Get ready. This is going to be good.”
On Wednesday afternoon The View executive producers, Bill Geddie and Barbara Walters, issued a statement in support of O’Donnell – and Trump.
“Both Rosie and Donald are high-spirited, opinionated people. Donald has been a friend of The View for many years and Rosie, of course, is our enormously popular moderator. We cherish them both and hope the new year brings calm and peace.”

Rosie has been picking arguments with everybody and their dog lately. What is up with her? As for the Donald, I find it funny that the shoe is on the other foot. He seems to think he is the foremost authority on telling others what is wrong with them but can’t take it when directed back at him. He recently tore a strip off Angelina Jolie’s back on Larry King regarding her non-relationship with her father, Jon Voight, backing Voight all the way. Just like Rosie is in no position to comment on Trump’s personal life/finances, Trump was in position to comment on Jolie/Voight’s personal relationship. How does anyone know what goes on behind closed doors? Someone can be a great friend but a shitty father. Someone can be a great financier but be a lousy husband with a crappy hair cut. Who ever really knows the truth but the people involved. It’s nice to see Trump get some back but I wish Rosie would shut the hell up already. Barbara Walters has made a big mistake hiring her and I hope she fixes it before her show goes for a complete crapper.

There is an old saying about cream rising to the top. In this case it is the trash that is coming to the top. I wish the great frump called Rosie would shut her mouth or at least try to think before she opens it. Better still, let her run for president, she seems to have opinions and the answers for all the ills of the world. I have reached the point that I turn on the tv with the thought what as the mouth said this time around. She had best look to her own personal and professional life before taking cuts ar others.
On Mr. Trump, I look at it as don’t do as I do but as I say. I do admire him for taking the high road and making the offer of rehab to the beauty queen. He could have pulled the rug out from under her and let her go as she was in breach of the signed contract.
I hope that Mr. Trump is the one that can finally shut the mouth that roars.

I finally heard of this whole Rosie/Trump fiasco this morning on my ride into work. I, honestly, think it’s hilarious. I have never been a fan of either of the two yet I’m siding with Trump. They have both said things out of line but Rosie made her bed and she must lie in it. Who cares if Miss USA or Miss Teen USA were out “partying like Paris or Lindsey.” I’m sure they aren’t the only underage girls doing it and they won’t be the last. I think Trump was right in giving Miss USA a second chance under certain terms. Everyone deserves a second chance. She didn’t hurt anyone and Rosie needs to get off it and see that eveyone makes mistakes… including her.

In my opinion, the Barbara Walters has allowed the View to be viewed as a live National Enquirer. Hiring Rosie did nothing buy give her a podium to voice her anger at the world. The other ladies would be well served to take themselves to another venue. They may as well not be there anyway. Rosie does all the talking. The calibur of the show has dropped significantly. Barbara! Do something quickly!

I am a Rosie fan, she did push the limit yesterday, but she only said what was true. Trump, on the other hand, went off saying things about her old talk show (no it did not tank in the ratings Mr. Trump, that would be YOUR show), her partner Kelli (don’t know how to tell you this Donald, but Kelli seems pretty happy with Roosie and it is rude of you to say one of your friends could steal her away–unless you speak from experience, we should ask Ivana or Marla).
Donald Trump always thinks he is the king…when his rating were down on his show, he said it was wrong…when his show didn’t win the Emmy, he cried that is was unfair. I am with Rosie, I just don’t like him

Both Rosie and The Donald are big ego maniacs. However, I am amazed that in all the printed versions of Trump’s rant on O’Donnell that I have read, they left out his threat to send over one of his friends to pick up Rosie’s “girlfriend.” Of all the nasty comments on both sides, that has to take the cake as totally inexcusable!
The whole exchange sounds like something that might be heard in a middle school lunch room. They both need to grow up.

One thing I have to say about Rosie is that she wears herself on her sleeve and she doesn’t hide a thing about herself. She attacked Donald on his integrity and morals which is how we should all be judged. As for Donald, he could only attack Rosie’s appearance………and who is he to talk. I always liked Trump… UNTIL NOW. What a loser! Rosie is a comic and it is her JOB to comment on things in the news. Trump always wanted to be a celeb, but he can’t stand the heat. As a public figure — and a man is show biz — he can expect to be criticized and made fun of. Ro called it as she saw it. He reacted like a Jerry Springer guest. Jumping, calling her names and making personal attacks that are completely baseless. Ro does more for charity than Trump ever would. Ro is a good person, Trump is a self-serving egomaniac. In one breath he’s claiming Barbara W. is his friend, and in the other he’s saying he’ll not only sue Rosie but The View. I hope the new Apprentice FLOPS.
And BW better not play the diplomat. If she truly loves Rosie as she claims, then Donald is lying and she needs to come out and make that clear. None of this “We at the View love them both” crap. Either Donald is lying, or Barbara is lying, and since BW DID hire Rosie, and even has one of her paintings hanging in the house, and has said on numerous occasions that she loves Rosie, then it seems clear that Donald is lying. Who does DT think he is? Considering all of his past indiscretions, who is he to tell Miss USA she has problems. She’s a kid, doing what kids do…and yippy for Donald and his olive branch. He wasn’t doing it out of the goodness of his heart, he did it for publicity = $$$. Rosie’s comments were in effort to highlight DT’s true intentions. A couple of one-liners about Trumps affairs (based on his own choices and actions) and his business (also based on his choices and tactics) and Trump runs to who ever will listen to start a bunch of name-calling. WEAK. If Trump could have made even one comment addressing what Rosie said, it may have lent him the slightest bit of credibility. But he didn’t. Trump portrays himself as an inarticulate ass, who resorts to Grade 4 behavior when someone does something he doesn’t like. A little used to getting your own way Donny? If he doesn’t agree with O’Donnell, fair enough. But a man of his notoriety could have pulled out a tiny bit of class and responded with an “I’m sorry that you don’t agree with my actions regarding Miss USA, however personal attacks are unnecesary and irrelivant.” Instead trump sounds off with “Rosie is disgusting inside and out. One of my friends could steal your girlfirend. I probably will sue, it;ll be fun” Who here really sounds like the juvenile bully? Who is Rosie to critisize how Trump handles his matters? She sees everything in black and white; never grey. And she’s so quick to push her opinions on others, in a loud, abrasive way. If Trump would have responded to her with class and an intelligent vocabulary, Rosie wouldn’t have understood what he was saying; you fight fire with fire. Meanwhile, Rosie’s constant plugging of her ‘children’ and ‘wife’ via tales and photos on the View has caused me to pretty much stop watching it altogether. I’ve read the commentary, from believer to doe. The bottom line is Rosie can’t handle women being helped out by men, she takes personal offense to it . If Trump would have ditched Conner Rosie would still have some parasitical rant to go on because thats ALL she has! She is a Tabloidical style brat with no talent. Thats why she has to bully her way to any kind of success. When it comes down to it she could not have any intellectual expository because its not only not her style, she simply hasn’t shown herself to be capable of it! I try to like Rosie, she simply makes it impossible, don’t get me wrong, I don’t prefer psycho liberal kool aid drinkers for intellectual stimualtion, but even on a “good intention” level she is full of it. Wow everyone who has a problem wih Rosie brings up her looks and attitude, which I think are her best attributes. She doesn’t rely on her looks but has definite opinions about alot of important issues. One big issue is that she wants women to stand up and be their own person. It doesn’t surprise me that she rubs conservative christians and misogynists the wrong way: she stands up for what she believes, and I admire her for it. I used to think she was lame but I have had a change of heart since she came to the
