Last night’s LOST re-cap!
“Further Instructions”

Last night’s episode was about the fate of Locke, Eko, and Desmond after the implosion of the hatch. Locke wakes up in the jungle only to find that he can not speak. He feels that the only way to get his speech back is to fix something that happened as result of his own actions. He goes into a tent and starts a fire, drinks something funky, and pours water on himself in order to “speak to the island.” Strange I know.

When he opens his eyes, Boone is sitting next to him in the tent. Boone then takes Locke (who must travel in a wheelchair and who is not wearing a shirt) to an airport where all of the characters of the show are. Locke trys to figure out which of the survivors of the crash he is supposed to save. After his weird vision, he realizes that it is Eko that he has to save from a polar bear. Charlie and Locke go into the jungle to find Eko and end up at this odd looking cave. Locke goes into the cave and saves Eko from the polar bear by using fire and some hair spray.

The flashback of this episode was of John and his marijuana growing days. He used to be a farmer/hunter with a bunch of people that he called his “family”. One day John picks up a hitchhiker who becomes part of the “family” after a few weeks. The only problem is that the hitchhiker turns out to be a F.B.I. officer who was undercover to find the pot. At the end of the flashback we do not know if John shoots the hitchhiker or not.

I liked the episode even though the Boone and John airport scene was trippy. The way they shot it almost made me dizzy. If you missed the show here are two parts that I think you need to know….
1. Two new characters were briefly introduced. Paulo played by Rodrigo Santoro and Nikki played by Kiele Sanchez were at the camp when Charlie and John were carrying Eko back.

2. Desmond might have some sort of ability to see the future. Desmond was found naked in the jungle by Hurley after the implosion of the hatch. When Hurley let Desmond borrow a shirt, Desmond mentioned a speech that John gave about finding Jack and the others. Hurley had no idea what he was talking about so Desmond acted like he did not know what he was saying as an effect of the hatch incident. Later on after John did give a speech about finding Jack, Hurley realized that Desmond foretold the future.
