An etremely pissed off Japanese ghost stalks and then kills everyone who goes near the house it’s haunting.
In the last movie, Sarah Michelle Geller set fire to the house in an attempt to put an end to the curse … but only managed to kill her boyfriend and end up in a police guarded hospital room, having everyone convinced she’s insane. “The Grudge 2″ opens with Geller’s fictional sister, played by Amber Tamblyn, traveling to Japan to visit Geller in the hospital. Geller makes it VERY clear to her that she should NOT go near that house. Well … it wouldn’t be much of a horror movie if she didn’t go into the haunted house, now would it?

A few parallel stories about others who have visited the house are woven together. This movie has no actual plot, to speak of, but I don’t really think that matters much. Each of the stories are well done and, in the absence of a plot, they keep you wondering how and why they’re relevant and how they’re all going to tie together in the end.
This movie’s suspensful and scary and never boring for a second. Even if you’re not a horror movie fan, I think it’s worth a watch.

You know, this movie reminds me of the curse I got when I when I went to Crystal Boychuck’s apartment to drop off the raisin tartlets I sell for the Arthritis society. Crystal thinks she’s so much better than I am because she’s the Assistant to the Regional Manager and I’m only an accounts receivable clerk. Well, Crystal invites me in and, as I’m waiting for her to write me a cheque, I flip through this picture book of Greek statues she has on the coffee table. I couldn’t believe it! These are statues of NUDE MEN! You can see EVERYTHING!! Now, whenever I see Crystal at work, I picture her rubbing that book all over her body and I break into uncontrollable giggles. People are starting to think I’m crazy and now I’m worried that I’ll never get promoted from a level 2 to a level 3!
Anyway, movie fans, I recommend seeing “The Grudge 2.” Plenty o’ frights to be had. Not a bad movie at all.
7/10
