Christie Brinkley runs into estranged hubby. Awkward!?
Christie Brinkley let husband Peter Cook back into their home Tuesday, but only for a few moments, the New York Daily News reports. It was the couple’s first meeting since news broke of Cook’s philandering ways. Cook, 47, arrived at the estranged couple’s $22 million Bridgehampton estate at roughly 1:30 p.m., and they were joined soon after by his parents, Harry and Jean.
The rendezvous lasted only 15 minutes before the Uptown Girl — who was not wearing her wedding ring — led the whole group back onto the street and disappeared in her tan Lexus SUV.
“I’d rather not comment,” the supermodel said when asked about her brief meeting with Cook and his elderly parents. “I just don’t want to fuel this anymore.”
Brinkley, 52, returned to the compound within the hour, accompanied by her 20-year-old daughter, Alexa Ray Joel, in the passenger seat of her car. She then handed a photographer stationed outside her home a box of sugar-free orange, cherry and grape Popsicles, and pointed to a handwritten note nestled inside the box. “Sorry you have to do this on such a hot day!” the note read.
“Here, this is a little gift for you. It’s very, very hot out. It’s global warming,” she told the shutterbug. Temperatures hovered around 98 degrees.
Handing out popsicles to photographers is one way to guarantee flattering pictures. The other way is to just be Christie Brinkley.
