Lauren Graham and Steve Carrell will star in the sequel to Bruce Almighty called Evan Almighty.

The script by Steve Oedekerk and Shadyac centers on Carell’s Evan Baxter anchorman character, who babbled on air in the original “Bruce.” Evan has become a politician in the sequel and ends up getting an audience with God, who instructs him to build an ark to prepare for a massive flood. Carrell will play the title character with Lauren Graham as his wife. John Goodman will play a congressman and Morgan Freeman will reprise his role as God. Shooting is currently taking place for a 2007 release.
