*Steel Magnolias & The Man in the Moon were filmed in the same city!?
Steel Magnolias was shot in the small Louisiana town of Natchitoches. Reportedly, the filmmakers placed such a great strain on the locals, particularly those who volunteered to be extras, that several years later, when the film The Man in the Moon (and yes, that’s Reese Witherspoon) was shot in the same town, extras were difficult to find, as so many townspeople had been burned by the Steel Magnolias crew. 
*Pretty Woman could have been – well, a disaster…
An early version of the script had Vivian addicted to cocaine; part of the deal was that she had to stay off it for a week. She needed the money to go to Disneyland. Edward eventually throws her out of his car and drives off. The movie was scripted to end with Vivian and her prostitute friend on the bus to Disneyland. 
*In Thelma & Louise, then struggling actor George Clooney auditioned five times for Ridley Scott for the part of J.D. that went to Brad Pitt. Anyone need a hair dryer? 
*Debra Winger behaved erratically on the set of Terms of Endearment because she was trying to get over a severe cocaine addiction. At one point, she and Shirley MacLaine got into a shoving match. 
*In Footloose, Kevin Bacon broke out in hives around his midsection when he had to film the City Council scene where he makes the case for holding a prom dance. The actor says he is uncomfortable when speaking in public, but has never had a reoccurrence of hives.
